Bid shall cover: A. City Hall Renovations including: 1. General, Mechanical, and Electrical Construction Work Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check on an Iowa bank, or bid bond acceptable to the Owner. The bid security shall be in the amount of 5% of the bid Work on said project shall commence within ten (10) days of the date of the contract or written notice to proceed and shall be completed by the date indicated by the contractor on the Bid Form, but in no event later than December 31, 2022. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price guaranteeing faithful performance of the contract and guaranteeing payment to all persons supplying labor and/or materials in the execution of the work provided for in the contract. The City Council of Story City, Iowa, will hold a public hearing on the proposed Plans, Specifications, form of contract and estimate of cost for the construction of said improvements hereinafter described in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 384, Code of Iowa, at 7:00 o'clock p.m., on the 20 th day of December 2021, at the Community Center, 503 Elm Avenue, Story City, Iowa. At the hearing, the City will receive and consider any objections made by any interested party, to the Plans and Specifications, proposed form of Contract, and the estimate of cost for the construction of the project. The City Council of Story City, Iowa reserves the right to reject any or all bids received or to waive informalities and irregularities and reserves the right to consider the responsibility of the Bidder. 4 PROJECT MILESTONES A. Bids Due: December 14, 2021. B. City Council holds Public Hearing on Plans, Specifications, Form of Contract and Estimate of Costs: December 20, 2021. C. City Council accepts bids and awards the contract: January 31, 2022. D. City Council approves Construction Contract: February 7, 2022 E. Pre-Construction Conference: February 8-11, 2022. F.
