Site work and paving for a road / highway in Hemet, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

The Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is seeking services for the demolition, removal, and replacement of approximately 28,000 square feet of existing pavement, at its Bautista Conservation Camp, located in Riverside County. 1. Contractor agrees to provide to the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) paving services, as described herein: Contractor shall provide all material, labor, equipment, tools, permits, taxes, and fees necessary to demolish, remove, and replace approximately 28,000 square feet of existing pavement. Contractor shall remove the existing pavement and required amount of subgrade material, to allow for a new six (6) inch asphalt pavement section, over six (6) inches (minimum) of recompacted asphalt grindings or Class II Base. Contractor shall remove all unused/demoed material from the site. Contractor shall match existing grade and ensure site drainage is maintained and provide a requisite Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and/or Dust Control Plans. Contractor shall provide all material, labor, equipment, tools, permits, taxes, and fees necessary to crack fill, seal, and re-stripe approximately 10,000sf of asphalt paving. Contractor shall be responsible for field verification of all measurements. Contractor and any subcontractors must be currently registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), as specified by Labor Code section 1771.1. Contractor must provide proof of this registration and maintain registration throughout the duration of the contract. Contractor must be a licensed contractor with the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB), with an active A - General Engineering and/or C-12 Earthwork and Paving Contractor license. Proof of current licensing must be submitted with bid packages. If not licensed for all disciplines required for the service, Contractor must utilize appropriate subcontractors, and must confirm licensing is current. For all contracts exceeding $25,000, a payment bond will be required, from the Contractor, and must be provided to CAL FIRE during contract development. For more information, please reference Exhibit E, Additional Provisions, section 5. 2. The services shall be performed at CAL FIRE's Bautista Conservation Camp, located at 33015 Bautista Road, Hemet, CA 92544. 3. The services shall be provided between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding any recognized State holidays; weekend work may be required. Actual work schedule to be coordinated by the CAL FIRE Project Representative. A. Work Included: 1. Pulverize approximately 28,000 square feet of HMA, approximately 6" deep of existing pavement sections and store for later placement. 2. Excavate and haul approximately 28,000 square feet of 6" thick subgrade. 3. Pave 6" of asphalt on top of 6" recompacted grindings and/or Class II base; any shortage of grindings shall be substituted with Class II base as described in SECTION 003. 4. Contractor shall be responsible for any requisite SWPP and Dust Control Plans. 5. Contractor shall ensure the new pavement conditions allow for site drainage and is responsible for maintaining grades during construction. 6. Contractor may choose to remove all materials and import Class II base for the entirety of the 6" required recompacted subgrade section 4n. B. Related Work 1. Section 002: Asphalt Paving 2. Section 003: Aggregate Bases 3. Section 004: Concrete Valley gutter construction 4. Section 005: Concrete Curb 5. Section 006: Striping C. Execution 1. Remove all existing pavement for in the areas to receive new pavement. Methods shall be employed that won't damage existing site features that will remain. Preferred methods are grinding or removal by backhoe/loader in chunks. Any existing site features that are damaged by the contractor shall be repaired by the contractor to the satisfaction of the State Representative. 2. Pulverized pavement shall be stored for placement as directed in the plans. Contractor is responsible for legal storage of the grindings. 3. All excavation to be removed from the construction site shall be the responsibility of the contractor. Contractor shall coordinate stockpiling, relocation, haul off and disposal. 4. Set up traffic control devices such that traffic in and out of parking areas can occur without interruption. Construct temporary ramps of fill or aggregate base as necessary for changes in grade more than two inches where vehicles must pass.
