Bid Range $45,000 - $80,00 The purpose of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is for the Virginia Department of Energy / Abandoned Mined Land Repurposing Program to obtain sealed bids for reclamation/construction work on the Hamilton Maintenance II Project. In summary, the Scope of Work shall consist of the de-watering of existing mine spoil by utilizing the installation of a sub-surface drainage system, installation of a diversion ditch, and installation and maintenance of erosion control measures. Revegetation and repair of damage to the project site will be conducted in completion of the work on the project. Project Location: The Hamilton Maintenance II Project is located off State Route 640 (Hurricane Rd), on Blackstone Road, northeast of the Town of Wise, in Wise County, Virginia. GPS coordinates for the approximate center of the project site are 36 59' 9.71"N and 82 32' 57.02"W. Construction work time will be 100 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. BID BOND OR GUARANTEE: (Bids over $100,000.00) Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond or guarantee of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, which shall be a certified check, cash escrow or a bid bond payable to the Treasurer of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The sureties of all bonds shall be of such Surety Company or companies as are approved by the State and are authorized to transact business in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Such bid bond or check shall be submitted with the understanding that it shall guarantee that the Bidder will not withdraw such bid during the period of 45 days following the opening of bids; that if such bid is accepted, the Bidder will accept and perform under the terms of the Invitation for Bids and purchase order or contract. The bid guarantee will be returned upon award of contract. PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BONDS: (Contracts over $100,000.00), The successful Bidder shall deliver to the purchasing office executed Commonwealth of Virginia Standard Performance and Labor Material Payment Bonds, each in the sum of the contract amount, with the Commonwealth of Virginia as obligee. The surety shall be a surety company or companies approved by the State Corporation Commission to transact business in the Commonwealth of Virginia. No payment shall be due and payable to the Contractor, even if the contract has been performed in whole or in part, until the bonds have been delivered to and approved by the purchasing office.
