Project No. 027-126 Replacement of Bridge No. 04610; Carter Hill Road over Menunketesuck River Contract Goal: 10% Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) The project is subject to Federal and State prevailing wage rate requirements. The project consists of replacement of the existing bridge with a precast concrete rigid frame supported by reinforced concrete abutments on drilled shafted foundation with associated roadway reconstruction and appurtenances. The Town of Clinton (Municipality) hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and that they will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, mental retardation or physical disability, including but not limited to blindness, in consideration for an award. Bid Proposal Form, Schedule of Prices, "Bid Bond", Non Collusion Affidavit, and Bidder's Prequalification approval letter signed by the CTDOT Contracts Manager must be completed and returned with the submitted bid. Failure to properly execute and include any one of these documents in the bid submission will result in the bid not being read and the subsequent rejection of the bid. A timeline for award is anticipated within the next couple of weeks. All Proposals must be on the form furnished by the Town of Clinton and must be requested for the above named project. NOTE: Prospective bidders must have a current sworn Statement (CON-16) on file with the Connecticut Department of Transportation and be prequalified to perform Group No. 8 (Minor Bridges) work. The Bidder's Prequalification approval letter signed by the CTDOT Contracts Manager shall be included as part of the bid package submitted to the Municipality. A Surety Company Bond, on the form furnished by the Town, for at least 30 percent of the amount of the bid must accompany each proposal. A certified check will not be accepted. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The apparent low bidder and second low bidder, as determined by the Municipality immediately after the bid opening, shall submit the Pre-award DBE Commitment Approval Request form(s) to the Municipality NO Later than five (5) calendar days after the bid opening.
