Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility; and 906-seat stadium.
Construction of a new arena at the University's Studley Campus that will feature a 200' x 85' single ice pad, six team dressing rooms, two dedicated Varsity Locker Rooms, Lobby Space, a 906-seat bleacher structure, a second floor Concession and Warm Lobby, a Physio Clinic and an Event Room with a dedicated Kitchen. The future facility must respond to the tight urban site, using its orientation to provide connection to the LeMarchant Building atrium, and provide a distinct and dynamic public entry, while creating relationships with its University surroundings. Also included the scope of this Project is the relocation of the existing parking lot in the footprint of the Event Centre to the west side of Wickwire Field (existing tennis courts), complete with storm water management and site lighting and signage. Also included in the scope of this Project is the replacement of steam, condensate and chilled water pipes currently located in a concrete tunnel under the Wickwire Field to direct buried services under the new roadway adjoining the west side of the Event Centre. *Construction cost estimate is $16.2 million.
