This project involves resurfacing of approximately 9.60 miles of minor local road sections in Silver Springs Shores. BUDGET: $1,300,000.00 This project involves resurfacing of approximately 9.60 miles of minor local road sections in Silver Springs Shores. The project involves 8.85 miles of overlay, .73 miles of reclaiming and resurface, and .02 miles of new construction. Resurfacing work is to include roadway prep, crack sealing, leveling, shoulder removal, minor clearing and grubbing, temporary striping, permanent thermoplastic striping, and stabilizing all
areas disturbed during construction. Reclaim and resurface work involves all items described above but includes the addition of imported Limerock to re-establish 2% roadway slope, and driveway prep as described in the special provisions. New construction involves construction survey, excavation of exiting R.O.W. and placement of 12" Limerock base, graded, compacted, and primed, with asphalt placement, including shoulder work and sod placement. No swale construction. This contract will be in effect for 150 days from the date of the NOTICE TO PROCEED. The NOTICE TO PROCEED will not be issued until all required documentation is received by the COUNTY. The last 30 days
of the contract is to accommodate the placement of thermoplastic striping only. All other contract related work must be completed within 120 days. Liquidated damages will begin to be imposed if there are any
outstanding contract items remaining incomplete except for thermoplastic striping after 120 days. Bid Bond (or cashiers check) in the amount of 5% of the base bid. Payment and Performance Bond - It is the Countys preference to require public works construction bonds (Payment & Performance or P&Ps) for all construction work at any value, however for those under $200,000 P&Ps may be waived at the using departments discretion when presented as an alternate on the Bid Form. Any Public Works construction project of which the value exceeds $200,000 as a result of this contract must be P&P bonded with the awarded contractor per Florida Statute 255.05, and have those P&Ps recorded with the Clerk of the Court, and verified by Procurement before any work can commence.
