Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Wichita, Kansas. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The city of wichita is soliciting bids for the removal and reconstruction of basketball courts at three sites located in harvest park (9500 provincial), planeview park (2819 fees) and college hill park (304 circle drive); as well as construction of a new court at boston park (6655 e. Zimmerly). Below are a listing of general specifications and requirements for these projects. The basketball courts at harvest, planeview and college hill are to be removed and replaced at their current locations. The basketball court at boston park will be constructed at a different location in the park. This project shall include all materials and labor to complete basketball courts which are satisfactorily built and functioning in a workmanship like manner, along with sidewalk replacement and site restoration as indicated. 1. The Contractor shall construct additional sidewalk and connecting walk at Boston Park per plans. Sidewalks shall be 5" thick and per City specifications. 2. Sidewalks adjacent and connecting to the new basketball courts shall be removed and replaced as necessary to maintain ADA access. Basketball Court Site Work: 1. The stockpiled topsoil shall be placed and seeded as required to provide an even and gentle grade back to existing grades on all four sides of the slab and sidewalk areas. The topsoil shall be appropriately compacted and left 1" below the top of the slab and sidewalks to allow water to drain from the slab and walks. 2. Reseeding of all disturbed areas is required. Seeding shall be done using 1lbs/1000 sq. ft annual rye (PLS) mixed with 2lbs/1000 sq.ft buffalograss (PLS), variety to be approved by Park Department. Provide erosion control blanket to protect and maintain seedbed. 3. Costs for all site work items shall be considered subsidiary to the site work bid item and not bid or paid for separately. Basketball Striping: 1. Only court striping and sealing shall be applied to the basketball court. The court shall be striped with dark blue 2" wide stripes in two coats over a clean and cured surface. (See color at Sherwood Glen Park.) The stripes shall meet NCAA guidelines for 84' long high school basketball courts. Basketball Goal Systems: 1. New basketball goals shall be installed. The new goal system shall be of the following colors: nets are to be white in color, backboards are to be clear acrylic, and the support posts shall be galvanized in color. The goal system shall be of Park Department approved materials. Specifications for approved materials are included; however other goal materials meeting the specifications may be approved for use by the Park Department. A bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Total bid or an annual bid bond is required prior to bid opening.
