A timeline for award has not yet been established.** Bids shall be accompanied by bid security in the amount specified in the Bidding Documents, made payable to Russell Township. All bids shall be based on the products and systems specified. Bid shall be accompanied by a bond for 100% of the bid, or certified check, cashiers check, or letter of credit equal to ten per cent of the bid. Questions and requests for substitutions shall be submitted to the Architects office not later than 12:00 Noon, Friday, December 3, 2021. The Township reserves the right to cancel any solicitation and to accept or reject in whole or in part any or all bids. The Township has the right to waive any irregularities in the bids received. SITE DESCRIPTION The project site is the existing Russell Township Police Department site at 14820 Chillicothe Road in Russell Township, Geauga County, Ohio. The site is on the west side of Chillicothe Road/ S.R. 306 approximately 650 feet north of Kinsman Road. The proposed location of the new storage building is to the southwest of the existing police station structure. Google Earth images indicate that a small structure, possibly a bus garage building, was razed within the project area in early 2012. At the time of our site work, the proposed building pad area contained bare earth, gravel and minor vegetation. The terrain of the site generally slopes gently downward toward the northwest. The grade within the proposed building pad falls from approximate elevation 1078 feet on the east side to approximate elevation 1074 feet on the west side. A conceptual site plan, undated, was provided. A final site plan, finished floor elevation, and grading plan were not available at the time of this analysis. For the purposes of this analysis, we assumed the proposed building will be a pre-engineered steel, slab-on-grade structure. The planned foundation systems will be conventional shallow spread and strip footings set below the local frost penetration depth. The foundation loadings for this type of structure are typically less than 50 kips for columns and 3 kips per foot for walls. The depth of cut and fill for the building pad is not expected to exceed 4 feet. If any of our project assumptions summarized above are incorrect, we should be contacted in order to determine if our recommendations remain valid.
