Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in Naples, Florida. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and road / highway.

As of11/17/2024, an engineer has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been disclosed. Question Deadline 11/10/2023 at 5:00 PM ET *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: As requested by the Transportation Engineering Division (hereinafter, the "Division"), the Collier County Board of County Commissioners Procurement Services Division (hereinafter, "County") has issued this Request for Professional Services (hereinafter, "RPS") with the intent of obtaining proposals from interested and qualified Consultants in accordance with the terms, conditions and specifications stated or attached. The Consultant, at a minimum, must achieve the requirements of the Specifications or Scope of Work stated. The project encompasses approximately a 3.3-mile section of 16th Street NE from the intersection with Golden Gate Boulevard West extending north to the intersection of Randall Boulevard. 16th Street NE intersects with a series of narrow dead-end streets. The improvements proposed will provide connectivity and roadway enhancements to those dead-end streets and improve emergency response times and safety along the corridor. A PD&E Study entitled "Golden Gate Estates Bridge Crossings" was completed for this site in September 2016. The proposed roadway improvements for this project consist of adding a new bridge, providing additional lane width and shoulders by widening to the west of the existing roadway. The widening will provide 11-foot travel lanes with 6-foot shoulders (4-foot paved plus 2-foot unpaved) along the entire length of the project. A 6-foot sidewalk will be constructed to the west of the roadway. The typical section of the proposed bridge consists of two, 12-foot travel lanes, 6-foot shoulders on each side, and a 6-foot sidewalk on the west side of the bridge. The proposed bridge width and length is 44 feet 7.5 inches and 142 feet, respectively. The final design shall confirm or modify these parameters for the bridge. The project will add a new signal system at 16th Street NE and Randall Boulevard. Q & A deadline: Nov 10, 2023 5:00:00 PM EST Direct questions related to this Request for Professional Services (RPS) to the Collier County Procurement Services Division Online Bidding System website The project for which the services are required is: Financial Project ID: 451283-1-58-01 County Project IDs: 60212.1 Description: 16th Street NE Bridge and Corridor Improvements from Golden Gate Blvd. to Randall Blvd. County: Collier Major work groups include: o 10.1 - Roadway CEI o 10.4 - Minor Bridge and Miscellaneous Structures CEI Minor work groups include: o 8.1 - Control Surveying o 8.2 - Design, Right of Way Construction Surveying o 9.1 - Soil Exploration o 9.2 - Geotechnical Classification Lab Testing o 9.3 - Highway Materials Testing o 9.4 - Foundation Studies o 9.5 - Geotechnical Specialty Lab Testing o 10.3 - Construction Materials Inspection The firms submitting as the PRIME CONSULTANT at a minimum must be pre-qualified through the FDOT in the following work groups: o Group 10 - CEI: (10.1 and 10.4) Also, at a minimum, the PRIME CONSULTANT or its subconsultant(s) must be pre-qualified through the FDOT in the following work groups: o Group 8 - Surveying and Mapping o Group 9 - Soil Exploration, Material Testing, and Foundations Local Agency's (LA) are required to use consultants prequalified by the Department for LAP Classification A, B, and C. Qualifications must be defined in the project advertisement or request for qualifications (RFQ), and request for proposal (RFP) documents. LAP projects may be one of the four types of classifications. Class A - On the State Highway System (SHS) or National Highway System (NHS) Class B - Off the SHS and NHS with an estimated construction value of $10 million or greater Class C - Off the SHS and NHS and includes structural components inclusive of a vehicular bridge, a pedestrian bridge over a roadway, or box culvert that meets the definition of a bridge. Class D - Off the SHS and NHS; may include structural components inclusive of pedestrian bridges not over a roadway, bridges on multi-use paths not over a roadway, and box culvert that do not meet the definition of a bridge. Exercise independent professional judgment in performing obligations and responsibilities under this Agreement. Pursuant to Section 4.1.4 of the Construction Project Administration Manual (CPAM), the authority of the Consultant's lead person, such as the Senior Project Engineer, and the Consultant's Project Administrator shall be identical to the Division's Project Manager and Construction Manager, respectively and shall be interpreted as such. Services provided by the Consultant shall comply with FDOT's manuals, procedures, and memorandums, bulletins, and local agency contract documents. FDOT manuals, procedures, and memorandums are found on the State Construction Office's website. On a single Construction Contract, it is a conflict of interest for a professional firm to receive compensation from both the COUNTY and the Contractor either directly or indirectly The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time.
