Renovation of an educational facility in New Castle, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Award Information: Slippery Rock Croton Administration Building $605,303.80 George Washington Intermediate School $358,586.96 The character and amount of security to be furnished by each bidder are stated in the above mentioned contract documents. Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and/or to waive any informality, infirmity, omission, defect, irregularity and/or disqualifying error in any bid. 1. Remove existing Fully-Adhered EPDM single-ply membrane from the existing tapered Polyisocyanurate insulation system. The existing insulation shall be reused, replace only wet insulation. 2. Properly prepare the surface prior to installing the new roof system assembly. Contractor to prime any areas where the facer was removed after the EPDM is removed. 3. Contractor is responsible to verify that the appropriate amount of fasteners have been installed in the existing Polyisocyanurate insulation according to the wind uplift calculations provided. 4. Hot mop with Type III hot asphalt the 1/2 " Wood Fiberboard, staggering the joints, to the tapered Polyisocyanurate insulation system. 5. Install SBS Modified Base Membrane (Flexbase 80) in Type III asphalt. 6. Install SBS Modified Membrane (Stressply) over the Modified Base Membrane. 7. A flood coat of Type III hot asphalt & slag will complete the system. 8. All internal drains shall receive new clamping rings and strainers (cast iron) if existing are plastic. 9. Contractor shall install a total of four (4) thru-wall scuppers. Two (2) on the upper multipurpose roof section & two (2) on the lower roof section as identified on the roof plan drawing. 10.Flashing system consists of 1 ply Modified Base Membrane in hot asphalt and 1 ply Stressply IV torch applied at all wood/steel curbs. All masonry walls shall be primed and Stressply IV torch directly to them. NOTE: At the parapet wall, the flashing will extend 1 foot above the roof system and be terminated. A surface-mounted counterflashing installed over the existing EPDM membrane, and caulked. If a receiver exist in the wall, it shall be reused and new .040 counterflashing, mill finish, shall be shop-formed to complete the detail. NOTE: The flashing system shall extend up & over the parapet walls only on the multipurpose roof section & the elevated entrance roof section. The existing coping cap removed 011100-2 & reinstalled after the flashing system is completed. 11. The existing EPDM membrane shall not be removed from the walls greater than one foot. All man-made seams shall be restored with a 6" self-stick EPDM membrane after properly cleaning the existing membrane. 12.If receiver is not installed at the brick wall flashing areas, a reglet shall be cut into the mortar joint and the counter flashing installed. 13.The existing metal coping cap shall not be replaced. 14.At the completion, provide Owner with 32-Year NDL Warranty as specified. B. Scope-of-Work: Croton Pre-Kindergarten (Sections A-B-C-Canopy) 1. Remove existing Fully-Adhered EPDM single-ply membrane roof system & all building components from the existing metal deck. 2. Properly prepare the surface prior to installing the new roof system assembly. 3. Install tapered (1/8"/ft., min 1 1/2", Avg. R-Value 30) Polyisocyanurate insulation system according to the wind uplift calculations provided. System is to be mechanically fastened to the existing metal deck. Contractor will install the necessary wood nailers to accommodate the new insulation system at the perimeter edge if necessary. 4. Hot mop with Type III hot asphalt the 1/2 " Wood Fiberboard, staggering the joints, to the tapered Polyisocyanurate insulation system. 5. Install SBS Modified Base Membrane (Flexbase 80) in Type III asphalt. 6. Install SBS Modified Membrane (Stressply) over the Modified Base membrane. 7. A flood coat of Type III hot asphalt & slag will complete the system. 8. All internal drains shall receive new clamping rings and strainers (cast iron). 9. Flashing system consists of 1 ply Modified Base Membrane in hot asphalt and 1 ply Stressply IV torch applied at all wood/steel curbs. All masonry walls shall be primed and Stressply IV torch directly to them. NOTE: At the existing brick walls, a surface-mounted counterflashing is to be installed. 10.The existing metal edge fascia system shall be replaced. A new R-Mer Force metal edge system (.050 mill finish) will be installed. The existing fascia extender is to remain. 11. All skylight domes are to be replaced. A unit price is being requested on the bid form. 12.At the completion, provide Owner with 32-Year NDL Warranty as specified.
