Renovation of a mixed-use development in Islip Terrace, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 14,500-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility.
Project construction cost estimate range is from $575,000 to $700,000. Bid# 121721-1 Contract G MS Auditorium HVAC - General Construction Work. Each proposal submitted must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, made payable to the EAST ISLIP UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, as a commitment by the bidder that, if its bid is accepted, it will enter into a contract to perform the work and will execute such further security as may be required for the faithful performance of the contract. Certification of bonding company is required for this bid: See Instructions for Bidders section. Each bidder shall agree to hold his/her bid price for forty-five (45) days after the formal bid opening. If through livestream, viewing instructions will be sent through portal. For precautionary reasons, if a livestream of the bid opening is necessary, bidders and other members of the public will not be admitted to the physical bid opening. All bids received after the time stated in the Notice to Bidders may not be considered and will be returned unopened to the bidder. In the event of a school closure, the proposals will be opened on the next business day that school is in session. The bidder assumes the risk of any delay in the mail or in the handling of the mail by employees of the School District. Whether sent by mail or by means of personal delivery, the bidder assumes responsibility for having its bid deposited on time at the place specified. Bidder's deposit will be refunded if the set is returned in good condition within thirty (30) days following the award of the contract or the rejection of the bids covered by such plans and specifications. Non-bidders shall receive partial reimbursement, in an amount equal to the amount of the deposit, less the actual cost of reproduction of the documents if the set is returned in good condition within thirty (30) days following the award of the contract or the rejection of the bids covered by such plans and specifications. Any bidder requiring documents to be shipped shall make arrangements with the printer and pay for all packaging and shipping costs. All bid addenda will be transmitted to registered plan holders via email and will be available at www.revplans.com. Plan holders who have paid for hard copies of the bid documents will need to make the determination if hard copies of the addenda are required for their use and coordinate directly with REVplans for hardcopies of addenda to be issued. There will be no charge of registered plan holders to obtain hard copies of the bid addenda. Requests for information (RFI) will only be received in writing or electronically. Deadline for RFI's will be 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 Any question or comment received after this time will not be answered. All RFI responses will be issued through written addendum. Bids must be made in the standard proposal form in the manner designated therein and as required by the specifications that bids must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name of the job and name and address of the bidder on the outside, addressed to: EAST ISLIP UNION FREE SCHOOL DISTRICT, PURCHASING DEPARTMENT, ATTN: SAMANTHA NEFF, 1 CRAIG B. GARIEPY AVENUE, ISLIP TERRACE, NY 11752, clearly marked on the outside: It is the Board's intention to award the contracts to the lowest qualified bidder providing the required security who can meet the experience, technical and budget requirements. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any informality and to accept such bid which, in the opinion of the Board, is in the best interests of the School District. Auditorium HVAC including structural work and roofing related to the demo and new mechanical units as shown on the plans. 2. Demolition and removals as shown, 3. Masonry repair to provide new openings at designated locations 4. Removal of exsting mechanical system equipment and controls 5. New air handling and cooling system equipment and controls 6. Ductwork replacement as indicated on construction drawings 7. Power and lighting panel upgrades adn indicated on construction drawings 8. Main secondary feeders, power distribution, and instrumentation control wiring. Provide, mount, and install electrical conduit, wire, fittings, boxes, panels, and electrical accessories. 9. Wiring connections to all electrical equipment 10. Fire alarm system upgrades as indicated on construction drawings 11. Exposed process piping, valves, fittings and appurtenances 12. Pipe support systems for exposed piping 13. Startup participation for the various equipment and systems of the project and provide complete service to troubleshoot and assist manufacturer service representatives in obtaining a completely functional installation. 14. Preliminary site work including: utility mark-out, erection of safety fencing, erosion control facilities, clearing and grubbing. 15. Site restoration including final grading and placement of topsoil and seeding. 16. Testing and balancing of systems. 17.
