Site work for a civil project in Surrey, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.
Approximately 890 Lineal Meters of District Energy System supply and return piping (i.e.1,700 m of Insulated 250mm diameter Steel Pipe); Leak Detection System, Communication Conduit; 7,800 square meters of asphalt milling and paving. The project generally includes the supply, installation and commissioning of the underground heating distribution primary piping as shown in the contract drawings. The system is comprised of the supply and return pre-insulated and jacketed thin wall steel carrier pipe system with leak detection system sensor wires. The leak detection monitoring system shall be supplied by the piping manufacturer as an integral part of thepiping system and shall be installed, tested and made functional by the Contractor with installation guidance from the pipe manufacturer. The system will be connected to existing branch mains and re-certified as a complete system with the Authorities. Maintenance Manuals shall include all pertinent documentation related to the system certification, to assist in future re-certification of the entire distribution system. The project generally includes the supply and installation of the underground factory insulated distribution piping; installation and commissioning of the underground system, connection to existing branch mains and certifiable as a common system with TSBC in compliance with the Province of British Columbia "Power Engineers Boilers and pressure Vessel Safety Act and Regulations". The piping system shall be registered with TSBC. The Consultant has submitted for design registration. The underground pipe cover to the top of the pipes outer jacket shall be as indicated on the drawings and in any event not less than 600mm below any grade during construction or at final grade. Provide Pre-insulated District Heating piping materials including expansion compensators, valves, drains and vents, which shall be delivered in cargo containers. In addition to the items specifically identified under Measurement and Payment clauses and the Form of Tender, the Contractor shall also be responsible for providing the miscellaneous materials required to complete the system such as required quantities of interior and underground carbon steel pipe, elbows, valves, tees, reducers, unions, flanges, couplers, suspension devices including polystyrene foam insulation, polyethylene sheeting, geotextile cloth, manholes, valve boxes and all other materials as required to complete the heating system. The Contractor shall complete a list of contractor supplied piping, fittings, valves, and other materials to be used on this project and submit for approval within 7 days after award of the Contract. Provide and make operational the leak detection system in the heating piping system. Notify the manufacturers of damages to the equipment, mark and isolate the damaged equipment, and make arrangements for replacements before it is used in the construction. Verify that the equipment received and signed for is of the correct quantity, type, and quality. Contractor shall be responsible for all damage and loss of the equipment by insuring the equipment from the time of receipt until the installations are complete, commissioned, and turned over to the Owner. Contractor is responsible for coordinating delivery, receiving, unloading, storage, and insuring all equipment. Interior Ball Valves .1 Provide the isolation ball valves for the heating system as indicated on the drawings at building interfaces. Note that the plan layout drawings depict trench lines which are to contain the supply and return pipes. Observe the convention: the supply pipe is on the right hand side of the trench in the direction of flow in the supply pipe. Documents can be obtained from www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca.
