The Project shall be known as Lift Station 10 Upgrade: Equalization Tank and the general character of said public works project shall consist of the following: Improvements to Lift Station 10, which includes replacement of existing pumps with larger pumps having variable frequency drives along with meters and control valves to fill and drain a new 1.5-million-gallon equalization basin The approximate quantities of said Project are as follows: 1.5 million gallon above ground prestressed equalization basin, 2 each new submersible pumps, 2 each meter vaults, 2 control valve vaults, generator with elevated generator pad, site work including 100 LF of a 24-inch RCP, yard piping for relocation of gravity sewer, addition of tank transfer and drain lines, and water main for tank wash down, building retrofits for electrical room, fencing, concrete access drive, electrical, instrumentation, wastewater flow control, erosion control, and miscellaneous appurtenances as required to build and support the new equalization basin The City will furnish the following: initial testing and washdown water. Time of Construction: From the date stated in the Notice to Proceed, the Project time of construction is three hundred sixty-five (365) consecutive calendar days. Each bidder must submit with its bid a cashier's check drawn on an Alabama bank or a fully executed bid bond on the form that is contained in the Contract Documents executed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make bond in the State of Alabama. All bonds, sureties and/or cashier checks will be made payable to the City for an amount not less than 5 percent of the City's or its engineers or architects estimated cost of the Project or of the total bid in the proposal, but in no event more than $10,000.00.
