Site work, paving and outdoor lighting for a civil project in San Diego, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for outdoor lighting for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; and water / sewer project.

The Work Includes: A Curtain Wall Repairs and Stormwater Improvements at B Street Pier. 1. The Curtain Wall Repairs and Stormwater Improvements at B Street Pier project is a structural rehabilitation and stormwater infrastructure upgrade for the Port of San Diego's B Street Pier. The project consists of two (2) phases; Phase 1: Curtain Wall Repairs and Backfilling at B Street Pier and Phase 2: Stormwater Infrastructure Improvements at B Street Pier that will be constructed in sequence under individual contracts for each phase. a. The Phase 1 Curtain Wall Repairs and Backfilling contract work will upgrade the mole pier's structural and seismic capacity with new sheet pile and pavement, modify soil characteristics using Deep Soil Mixing (DSM) techniques and replace select portions of existing utilities as well as produce updated utility bulkhead crossings including the pier's drainage system outfalls. b. The Phase 2 Stormwater Infrastructure Improvements contract work will introduce permanent Best Management Practices (BMPs) to the B Street Pier drainage system to improve water quality of storm water runoff from B Street Pier into the San Diego Bay. Improvements will be in conformance with the Port's BMP Design manual and will consist of runoff intercepting structural treatment devices and supporting drainage system modifications intended to capture and treat within a tributary range of 9% to 60% of the pier's surface area. 2. It is anticipated the awarded Phase 1 Curtain Wall Repairs and Backfilling at B Street contractor will be prepared to incorporate District initiated modifications to contract work in support of the Phase 2 Stormwater Infrastructure Improvements project that will follow completion of Phase 1. B The Phase I Work Under This Contract Includes: 1. Furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, transportation, and disposal as necessary to complete the construction of a new sheet pile bulkhead wall system to replace curtain wall mole pier enclosure and various associated facility rehabilitation work at B Street Pier, Central Embarcadero area in San Diego, CA as shown on the Plans and described in these Specifications. For those interested Prospective Bidders that would like to inspect the under deck area, please e-mail David McCargar [dmccargar@portofsandiego.org] at least 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE. You will need to provide your own vessel in order to do so. The following days are available: Friday (12/17/21), Tuesday (12/21/21) and Wednesday (12/22/21). You must RSVP in order to do so as clearance is required. Additionally, please provide the following information when submitting your request via e-mail: 1. Name of Company Requesting Site Visit 2. Name of Staff that will be aboard Vessel used for Site Visit 3. Vessel Information (I.E. TYPE, SIZE, CF #, ETC.) 4. Time/Date of Requested Access 2. The work shall include, but not limited to the following as shown on the Plans and described in these Specifications a. Removal and disposal of existing pavements and buried infrastructure and utilities. b. Disassembly, temporary relocation, and restoration of existing fabric structures. c. Removal and disposal of existing Lighting Fixture and Security Camera Pole foundations. d. Disassembly and temporary relocation of existing Lighting Fixture and Security Camera Poles and equipment. e. Disassembly and temporary relocation of existing Parking Kiosk. f. Removal and disposal of abandoned water and sewer pipelines and associated facilities. g. Temporary relocation and restoration of existing water, sewer and storm drain pipelines in conflict with new bulkhead wall construction. h. Temporary relocation and restoration of existing high voltage shore power electric facilities in conflict with new bulkhead wall construction i. Temporary relocation and restoration of existing electric service j. Permanent relocation and restoration of existing AT&T communication service in conflict with new bulkhead wall construction (Additive Bid Item A). k. Supply and install temporary electric services during new bulkhead wall construction (Additive Bid Item A). l. Supply and installation of new high performance coated steel sheetpiles. m. Supply and installation of Deep Soil Mixing (DSM) Stabilization columns. n. Supply and installation of permanent soil anchors and accessories. (Additive Bid Item A). o. Supply and installation of cast-in-place marine concrete pile cap. p. Existing precast concrete curtain wall spall and joint repairs. q. Soil Excavation and Export. r. Incidental items of work. The Site Visit is not mandatory, however, all prospective Proposers are encouraged to attend. Submission of a Bid Proposal Package shall be evidence that the bidder has visited the jobsite and is satisfied with the conditions to be encountered if awarded the contract. MC-0073-01 *R.E. Staite Engineering Inc. required that all proposals must include the statement what all workmanship will be furnished in accordance with the project plans and specifications. There are NO Buy America requirements for this Port of San Diego project. Along with your bid, they require that you provide your bond rate and your Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) number. All onsite personnel will be required to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) cards to comply with the requirements specified in Section 01 35 53 - SECURITY PROCEDURES.
