A public hearing will be held by the City of Polk City, Iowa on the proposed contract documents (plans, specifications, and form of contract) and estimated cost for the improvement at its meeting at 6:00 P.M. on January 10, 2022, in said Council Chambers at City Hall, 112 3 rd Street, Polk City, Iowa for the North 3 rd Street and East Vista Lake Avenue Intersection Improvements Project. Work on the improvement shall be commenced any time upon approval of the contract by the Council and after a written Notice to Proceed is issued, no earlier than March 1, 2022, be completed as stated below. The Notice to Proceed will be issued when weather permits and after the preconstruction conference, which is anticipated to occur in February 2022. Project Late Start Date is set where work shall commence no later than March 21, 2022. The Project includes a constructing a single lane PCC roundabout improvement at the intersection of North 3rd Street and Vista Lake Avenue in Polk City, Iowa. The project consists of 3,300 SY of 8" PCC pavement, 282 LF of 2.5' PCC curb and gutter, 239 SY of PCC Median Paving, 407 SY 8" PCC Truck Aproncolored and stamped, 541 SY of PCC sidewalks and trails, 2,037 SY 6" temporary pavement, 485 LF 15"RCP storm sewer, 598 LF of 8" and 12" PVC C900 water main, 1830 CY Class 10 excavation, 2440 CY Class 10 Excavation (Contractor Provided), subdrain, intakes and manholes, erosion control, surface restoration, roundabout interior landscaping, irrigation, 7 street lights with conductor and handholes, rectangular rapid flashing beacons, colored and stamped concrete and associated work. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of contract a corporate surety bond, in a form acceptable to the Jurisdiction, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equal to 100% of the amount of the contract he Contractor shall fully complete the project in 120 Working days
