Renovation of a water / sewer project in Jackson, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

This project includes a base bid to repaint the Walnut Street Water Storage Tank and an additive alternate for repainting the Raw Water Intake Structure. BASE BID: Walnut Street Water Storage Tank ADDITIVE ALTERNATE: Raw Water Intake Structure Repainting A. The Walnut Street Tank is an elevated 150,000-gallon double ellipsoidal water Storage tank. Top of footing elevation is 243.98 MSL; overflow elevation is 352.97 MSL for a total approximate height of 109 feet above the top of footing. B. The interior and exterior of the Walnut Street Tank shall be sandblasted and repainted. This tank was last painted in 2005. As such, lead removal is not anticipated. However, if the Contractor needs confirmation, it will be the contractor's responsibility to have the tank tested for lead. If any lead is identified, it will be the contractor's responsibility to properly remove the lead from the tank and site and provide disposal. C. During surface preparation of the tank exterior, airborne particulates, and debris from the removal of paint SHALL BE EFFECTIVELY CONTAINED VIA DRAPING to prevent contamination of surrounding site, soil, and/or water. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids, and to award the contract to the lowest and most responsible bidder. All bidders must comply with requirements of the Contractor's Licensing Law of the State of Alabama and be certified for the type of work on which the proposal is submitted. Each bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount, form, and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the opening thereof. Bids may be held by the Owner for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of the bidders prior to awarding the contract. This project is being funded by local funds. The Jackson Water Works and Sewer Board is an equal opportunity employer. Time of Completion - 90) consecutive calendar days thereafter
