This Invitation to Tender is being issued by the Health Organization for Richmond Hospital. Replace the existing fire alarm initiation devices, install new fire alarm notification devices, and upgrade the air ducting system in the Westminster Health Tower, North Tower and South Tower at Richmond Hospital. Scope of Work is as follows but not limited to: Numerous phases of construction during Owner occupancy. Work in clinical and public areas shall be completed on a room-by-room basis. Should more than one room at a time be available the Owner will advise the Contractor, but the bid price shall be based on a single room-by-room basis. Work in service spaces (communication rooms, mechanical, and electrical rooms) may be completed concurrently providing they do not impact the on-going operation of the facility. One-month look ahead shall be provided by the Contractor to advise of schedule of work and Contractor coordination with HA PM, Clinical Lead, and Infection Prevention & Control practitioner. Selective demolition and renovation of existing facility to accommodate the installation of mechanical and electrical systems. All work will be conducted in the evenings. Contractor shall allow for all work to be at evening premium labour rates. Bidder shall provide hourly charge out rates for all major trades using a evening premium labour rate and provide this with their bid submission. Verification of the fire alarm system. This work is to be completed by the General Contractor sub-trade. This work will be sole sourced to Viking Fire Protection Services. Firestopping, steel studs, drywall, ceiling, and painting are to be completed by skilled trades specializing in the work.
