Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for a residential development in North Charleston, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; for site work for a residential development; and for asbestos abatement for a residential development.

Demolition of Four Residential Structures The City of Charleston, Department of Housing and Community Development, is requesting proposals for the demolition of four residential-type structures, averaging approximately 1750 square ft. each in size, located at Cunnington Avenue in Charleston, SC. One of the structures contains friable, regulated asbestos-containing material that will require removal by an asbestos abatement firm prior to the demolition of this structure. Some lead-based painted sheetrock and trim are present in two of the structures. The Environmental Testing reports for these structures shall be provided at the Pre-bid meeting or upon request. The addresses of the properties: 3, 5, 7, and 9 Cunnington Avenue, Charleston, SC. Proposals must contain the following information: 1) A work plan for the steps you will take to safely remove the structures. The work plan should state that the regulated asbestos containing materials (RACM) shall be abated by a licensed abatement contractor in compliance with EPA and SCDHEC regulations. 2) Copies of EPA certifications held by the contractor and by any abatement sub-contractors that will be utilized at this project. 3) Include copies of Comprehensive Liability Insurance coverage. Worker's Compensation insurance is also required for work crews. Work Plan shall include the following: 1) The demolition includes the removal of the entire structure including all foundation and footing materials of the structures. 2) Following demolition, the site must be clear of debris and level, rough graded. 3) Final disposal documents for the asbestos containing building components required. 4) Demolition contractor must place erosion control silt fence along the front of the property prior to the start of work. Contractors will be required to provide appropriate business credentials, company information, and references. The City of Charleston has the right to refuse any or all bids at its own discretion.
