Blair Road Transit Priority and High Occupancy Vehicle Lanes project. The City of Ottawa is proposing improvements to Blair Road for transit priority and high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes between Blair LRT Station and Innes Road. New accessibility, pedestrian and cycling facilities along the road corridor are also proposed to provide connectivity (LRT Station, residential communities, employment, retail and other amenity areas), to promote active transportation, and to improve safety for all road users. This project will result in widening of the roadway and reconstruction of intersections to accommodate these transportation facilities as a complete street. The project limits include Blair Road from the north side of the intersection of Blair Road at the Blair LRT Station (the Gloucester Shopping Centre entrance) to the intersection of Blair Road at Innes Road. Key project features include: Barrier free access along the corridor for all users ; A new multi-use pathway (MUP) to provide direct connectivity to Blair LRT Station, along the west side of the corridor; A new northbound cycling facility along the east side of the corridor; Protected intersections at the two intersections at Blair Station and south of Ottawa Road 174 (OR174), and improvements to the intersections at Meadowbrook Road, Beaverpond Drive, and Innes Road. Two new mid-block pedestrian crossings to access bus stops ; Reconfiguration of the high-speed OR174 interchange ramps to reduce vehicle speeds in the vicinity of Blair Road and active transportation crossings. TIMELINE: There is currently no funding for construction & no timeline for construction. Coverage has been discontinued at this time.
