Notice is hereby given that the Easton School Department (ESD) requests interested design build contractors to respond to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ). ESD seeks to prequalify firms for placement on a short list of firms qualified and approved to provide a competitive bid on a design-build HVAC renovation project developed and constructed to ESD specifications. Selected firms will receive an RFP for the project. The following preliminary dates are provided to ensure proposers understand the project schedule. 1. RFP will be issued to Qualified Firms on December 16, 2021 2. Proposals due back no later than January 18, 2022. 3. Contract Award late January 2022 4. Construction begins late spring/summer 2022. 5. Construction finished in fall of 2022. HVAC systems for Easton Elementary and Easton High School shall be replaced to Owner's specifications. Many of the existing systems are original to the construction or have not been upgraded significantly since that time. Existing systems include low-pressure steam boilers with a distribution system consisting of low-pressure steam with gravity condensate return. The boilers will be replaced with high efficiency high mass condensing hydronic boilers. New hydronic piping systems will be installed. Classrooms and similar spaces will receive new Unit Ventilators. All existing steam terminal units, including unit heaters, cabinet unit heaters, finned tube convectors and the like will be replaced with low temperature hydronic units. The base bid requires a District Heating Plant to be installed in the Elementary School to serve both schools via direct buried supply and return piping. An Alternate for separate boiler plants in each school will be required. Fuel systems will be via buried propane tanks, no backup fuel is envisioned. The Project will include New Direct Digital Controls to facilitate equipment operation, maintenance and energy savings. The project will include several Additive Alternates. These Additive Alternates will revolve around replacing and/or modifying the existing ventilation systems that serve offices, corridors, gymnasiums, locker rooms and kitchen spaces. Owner will provide each Proposer access to the Site to carry out any required Site visit, and to conduct such examinations, investigations, explorations, tests, and studies that the Proposer deems necessary for submission of a Statement of Qualifications. Davis Bacon wage requirements will apply to this project
