Howard County intends to procure the services of one or more construction firms to repair and/or replace approximately 2,400 existing A.P. Smith fire hydrants throughout its coverage area of Howard County. The Contractor shall be responsible for all labor, materials, and equipment to make the necessary replacements of approximately 5 fire hydrants a week. This project is in SHA Cost Group E. Each bid shall be accompanied by an electronic copy of a bid bond OR certified check, in the amount of 5% of the total bid, made payable to the Director of Finance, Howard County. For a certified check, the Contractor shall submit the original certified check to the Office of Procurement and Contract Administration PRIOR to the bid due date and time to be deemed responsive.
