CDBG PROJECT # 1137-20-322-PF-01 The work shall consist of the construction of a 12"X8" gravel wall water well and appurtenances for the Sylvarena Water Association. Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond, certified check or cashier's check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the Bid shall be furnished by each Bidder as required by the Contract Documents. Minority and woman's business enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities, equipment, material and/or supply needs. The successful bidder must comply with Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968 and its associated regulations (24 C.F.R., Part 75). CDBG regulations governing the grant require that, to the greatest extent feasible opportunities for contracting, subcontracting, training and employment arising in connection with this CDBG project will be extended to Section 3 businesses, Targeted Section 3 Workers and Section 3 Workers. This procurement will be subject to all applicable sections of the Mississippi Code of 1972, Annotated, as they apply to local governments, in accordance with Appendix D of the DWSIRLF Program Regulations. Scope of Work: The work to be performed under this contract consists of the construction of a gravel wall water well to provide 350 gallons per minute of potable water to the Owner's existing water system. The well is to be constructed for long life and maximum efficiency and is to operate on a fully automatic basis. All work is to be performed in strict accordance with these specifications, the construction drawings and regulations of governmental agencies having authority over this project. Location of Work: The well is to be drilled on the Owner's site located off SCR 99 in Smith County, Mississippi. The location of the well and appurtenant items within the site shall be selected by the Engineer.
