Renovation of an educational facility in Globe, Arizona. Working plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

A. All work shall be installed in accordance with all applicable state codes, local codes and district's standards indicated by the construction documents. B. All equipment shall be installed per the manufacturer's recommendations. C. All fixtures and equipment removed and not reused are to be returned to the District for first right of refusal. Contractor shall dispose of properly if District does not accept. D. Installation or removal of ducts, pipes and equipment may require the removal of existing walls and ceilings. Contractor shall be responsible for patching and repairing these walls and/or ceilings to match existing. E. Patch openings (airtight) in ducts which are to remain active and have had a section removed. Also repair duct insulation so that it is continuous. F. Contractor to seal all audible and visible leaks on all reused supply ductwork. G. All exterior wall and roof penetrations shall be sealed watertight. H. Work shall be coordinated with trades involved. Offsets in piping and ducts and transitions around obstructions shall be provided at no additional cost. I. Equipment connections shall be verified with manufacturer's certified drawings. Duct transitions shall be verified and provided to furnished equipment. Dimensions shall be field verified and coordinated prior to fabrication. J. Control wire and conduit shall comply with NEC. K. Diffuser sizes shown are neck sizes. Register and grille sizes are nominal. L. Install equipment, piping and ductwork as required to provide a vibration-free installation and to facilitate equipment access as required by manufacturer. M. The drawings indicate the general arrangement of the existing equipment locations, existing pipe routing and existing duct routing. Contractor is to install new equipment, ducts, and piping in locations required to avoid interference with existing facilities, equipment, ducts and piping. Contractor is responsible for raising and lowering existing equipment and making proper offsets in ducts and piping to avoid conflicts. N. Contractor shall provide plastic tags on all new equipment. Plastic pipe marker shall be laminated thee-layer plastic with engraved black letter on light contrasting background with minimum tag size of 1-1/2 inch square. O. Provide pipe stencils or pipe markers on all new pipe within the scope of work in compliance with ASME A13.1 standards. Identification marker shall provide service and flow direction. P. Locate identification not to exceed 20 feet on straight runs including riser and drop, adjacent to each valve and tee, at each side of penetration of structure or enclosure and at each obstruction. Q. Provide duct stencils or duct markers on all new duct within the scope of work in compliance with ASME 13.1 standards. Identification markers shall provide service and flow direction. Locate identification not to exceed 20 feet on straight runs including riser and drop, adjacent to each valve and tee, at each side of the penetration of structure or enclosure and at each obstruction. R. Provide copper tubing on all equipment drains and overflows. Copper tubing shall be in compliance with ASTM B88 type DWY with ASME B16.22 compliant solder wrought copper and lead-free solder joints in compliance with ASME B32, 95-5 tin antimony. S. Provide steel ductwork according to SMACNA 1966. Provide duct steel duct material, gages reinforcing and sealing for indicated system operating pressures as shown on equipment schedules. T. Provide two-ply vinyl film supported by helical-wound spring steel wire flexible duct with fiberglass insulation and polyethylene vapor barrier film. U. Provide external duct insulation with vapor retardant jacket and cover with aluminum duct jacket for all external ductwork. Aluminum duct jacket shall be in accordance with ASTM B209, 0.0220 inch thick sheet with smooth finish. V. Provide external glass fiber duct insulation on all internal duct systems. All external glass fiber duct systems shall be ASTM C1290 compliant. W. Provide minimum R-8 insulation for all internal and external duct systems X. Provide flexible, closed call elastomeric tubular insulation in compliance with ASTM C534 for the first 10 in internal condensate and all refrigerant piping. Y. Provide firestopping at fire rated construction perimeters and openings containing penetrating sleeves and piping. Z. Support all horizontal piping in lengths compliant with the international mechanical code, within 12 inches of each horizontal elbow and at every floor. AA. Provide sleeves through all piping passing through partitions, walls and floors. BB. Install piping to allow for expansion and contraction without stressing piping, joints or connected equipment. Route all piping parallel to building structure and maintain gradient. CC. Provide clamps, offsets, expansion joints, anchors and guides as necessary to prevent stress on piping. DD. Provide test and air balance report in accordance with TABB international quality assurance program including proof of instrument calibration, test reports, field reports and sample report forms. Submit draft copies of report to construction manager for review prior to final project acceptance. EE. Provide copper tubing for all refrigerant systems. Piping shall be in compliance with ASTM B280 with wrought copper fittings in compliance with ASTM B16.22 and brazed joints in compliance with AWS A5.8. FF. Provide PVC plastic pipe jacket on all indoor insulated refrigerant piping. PVC plastic jacket shall be in compliance with ASTM D1785 with brush on welding adhesive connections. GG. Provide aluminum jacket on all outdoor insulated refrigerant piping. Aluminum jacket shall be in compliance with ASTM B209 with 0.016 thick smooth sheet. HH. Provide molded glass fiber pipe insulation with ASTM C547. Insulation shall contain a thermal conductivity rating of 0.23 at 75 degrees F. Provide 1/2 inch insulation on pipe 1-1/4 inch and smaller. Provide 1 inch insulation of pipe 1-1/2 inch and larger. II. Contractor shall replace any architectural elements such as hard ceilings or wall removed / damaged during the installation of new components. New architectural elements to match existing like for like. JJ. The District and engineer are not responsible for the contractor's safety precautions or to means, methods, techniques, construction sequences or procedures required to perform the work. KK. Information on the drawings has been ascertained from existing drawings and field observations. This information is as accurate as conditions would allow. It is the contractor's responsibility to visit the site, prior to bid, and become familiar with the extent of work required. No extra cost shall be allowed for alterations of a foreseeable nature required to achieve the end result as indicated in contract documents.
