Contractor(s) shall provide all labor, materials, supervision, equipment, disposal fees, permits, tools, incidentals, and transportation required to perform work as requested at locations throughout the City. Work shall include, but not be limited to: 1. Secure Structures: a. Secure structures by boarding accessible openings and/or fencing the structure to prevent entry to the structure. No openings on the second story and above are to be boarded unless specified by the City Representative. b. Board-Up: The structure shall be secured using 7/16" wafer board material that is cut to fit individual openings, including doors and windows. Attach with dry wall screws that are secured to the frame of the opening with a minimum depth of 1". Screws are to be installed at intervals of approximately 6"-10" on the 2 sides and the top of the opening. Screws shall be backed by washers not less than 3/4" or more than 1" in diameter. c. Fencing: If it is impossible to board-up a structure or an excavation, Contractor shall install fence to secure the area. Fencing will be standard 48" snow fence supported by "T" posts with flange and clips to fasten to the posts. Posts will be spaced 6' and flange below grade to sufficiently hold fencing from falling over. 2. Miscellaneous Upon Request: a. Install hasp & lock b. Install T-post & attach small aluminum sign (sign to be provided by City) c. Pump standing water d. Insurance verification will be required before commencement of the contract. The term of this contract shall be for 1 year (12 months) and will commence on the date stated on the Annual Agreement Form. The Contract may be renewed at the expiration of its term with the mutual agreement of the City and the successful vendor. Renewal may be for 5 additional 12-month periods. Bids may not be withdrawn for sixty (60) days from the due date to allow for a full evaluation and to make an award deemed in the best interests of the City of Des Moines.
