Site work and new construction of a museum in Montreal, Quebec. Completed plans call for the construction of a 47,000-square-foot, three-story above grade museum; for site work for a museum; and museum.
Construction of a new building for the Montreal Holocaust Museum. The new building will house a reception area comprising a vestibule and a reception, orientation and information point, a ticket office and cloakrooms, an agora, a 160-seat auditorium equipped with audio-visual equipment and allowing conferences to be held for large school groups, a multifunctional room accommodating 72 people in assembly, an education sector for 135 students and a classroom that can be divided into two, a documentation research area including a library area and a work area, a bookstore, a shop and a café. The building will be surrounded by a memorial garden. The buildings actually located on the site will be demolished. Note. The total value of the project with all exhibits and arrangements amounts to $90 million including $20 million subsidized by the Quebec Ministry of Culture and Communications, $15 million, by the Azrieli Foundation, and many patrons contributing through the funds raising campaign for the Museum, entitled "Let's Give a Voice" TIMELINE: Construction of the project started. The new Museum is scheduled to open in early 2026.
