Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Fairfield, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

Contract Goal: 12% Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) The project is subject to Federal and State prevailing wage rate requirements. The project consists of replacing the existing with a clear span steel multibeam structure composite with reinforced concrete deck supported by reinforced concrete abutments and wingwalls founded on micropiles with associated roadway reconstruction, drainage, and appurtenances. The Town of Fairfield (Municipality) hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and that they will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, mental retardation or physical disability, including but not limited to blindness, in consideration for an award. "Bid Proposal Form", "Schedule of Prices", "Bid Bond", "Non Collusion Affidavit" and "Bidder's Prequalification" approval letter signed by the CTDOT Contracts Manager must be completed and returned with the submitted bid. Failure to properly execute and include any one of these five documents in the bid submission will result in the bid not being read and the subsequent rejection of the bid. Form 818 Standard Specifications and Supplemental Specifications may be obtained via the Connecticut Department of Transportation. All Proposals must be on the form furnished by the Town of Fairfield and must be requested for the above named project. Note: Prospective bidders must have a current sworn Statement (CON-16) on file with the Connecticut Department of Transportation and be prequalified to perform Group No. 9 (Intermediate Bridges) work. The Bidder's Prequalification approval letter signed by the CTDOT Contracts Manager shall be included as part of the bid package submitted to the Municipality. Note: Any Contractor or Subcontractor engaged in surface preparation and/or coating application must be certified by the Steel Structures Painting Council. Note: A Surety Company Bond, on the form furnished by the Town, for at least 30 percent of the amount of the bid must accompany each proposal. A certified check will not be accepted. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Note: The apparent low bidder and second low bidder, as determined by the Municipality immediately after the bid opening, shall submit the Pre-award DBE Commitment Approval Request form(s) to the Town of Fairfield No Later Than Five (5) calendar days after the bid opening. This is a requirement of Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 26, Participation of DBEs. Contractors that find discrepancies and/or errors in or between plans, specifications, quantities and other matters, must immediately notify the Municipality in writing to Corinne M. Dyer, Senior Buyer, cdyer@fairfieldct.org. Written requests for information will not be accepted after 12:00pm on Monday, 20 th December, 2021.
