Sealed bids in duplicate will be received by City of Hitchcock, Galveston County, Texas for furnishing all plant, labor, material, and equipment, and for performing all work required for construction of: TEXAS COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION SIDEWALK PROJECT TO SERVE CITY OF HITCHCOCK, GALVESTON COUNTY, TEXAS (TDA CONTRACT NO. 7220172). Major items of work include: (1) 5-1/2 foot wide sidewalks (2) Crosswalks (3) Wheel Chair Ramps (4) Road Ditch Excavation (5) 6-inch curbs with 2-inch openings (6) 1-1/2" HMAC (7) Sawcutting and Asphalt Repair (8) Remove and Replace Chain Link Fence (9) 15-inch and 18-inch RCP Storm Sewer Culverts. It is recommended that all bidders attend the pre-bid conference; however, attendance is not mandatory. A certified check or bank draft payable to City of Hitchcock or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Affairs and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin.
