The State of Utah - Division of Facilities Construction and Management (Dfcm) Is Requesting Bids for the Construction of the Following Project: Engineering Technology Building Pre-renovation Hazmat Abatement Weber State University Ogden, Utah Dfcm WSU ET Building, Phase 1, 1447 Edvalson Street, Ogden, Utah 844008 Anticipated Start Date: January 1, 2022; Anticipated abatement contractor mobilization onsite 1/3/2022 All pre-renovation hazardous material abatement activities for ACM, LBP and universal waste as outlined in the R & R Environmental scope All pre-renovation hazardous material abatement activities for ACM, LBP and universal waste as outlined in the R & R Environmental scope of work document. Construction Cost Estimate: $347,679.00 1. Cove Base Mastic a. Contractor shall remove all Cove Base Mastic from Rooms 135 and 137 . This material contains 8% chrysotile asbestos. There is approximately 85 square feet of material to be removed. This material is not currently friable. 2. Wall System a. Contractor shall remove all Wall System from the ET Building, Phase 1, areas (see the attached floor plans). This material contains <1% chrysotile asbestos (by point count). There is approximately 20,000 square feet of material to be removed. This material is not friable. Note that this material also has an asbestos containing Wall Texture material. 3. Ceiling & Wall Texture Material a. Contractor shall remove all Ceiling and Wall Texture Material from the ET Building, Phase 1 (see the attached floor plans). This material contains up to 2% chrysotile asbestos. There is approximately 20,000 square feet of material to be removed. This material is friable. 4. Vinyl Floor Tile & Mastic a. Contractor shall remove all Vinyl Floor Tile & Mastic from the ET Building, Phase 1 (see the attached floor plans). This material contains up to 7% chrysotile asbestos. There is approximately 15,750 square feet of material to be removed. This material is not currently friable. 5. Insulation Pin Adhesive a. Contractor shall remove all Insulation Pin Adhesive from the Building's Ducting, Air Handler Boxes, and Mechanical Rooms, (see the attached floor plans). This material contains 18% chrysotile asbestos. There is approximately 7,500 square feet of material to be removed. This material is not currently friable. 6. TSI - End Sealant a. Contractor shall remove all TSI - End Sealant from the piping in the ET Building, Phase 1 areas (see the attached floor plans). This material contains <1% chrysotile asbestos by point count. There is approximately 450 square feet of material to be removed. This material is not friable. 7. Roof Sealant (Caulk) a. Contractor shall remove all Roof Sealant from the Building's Roof Penetrations in the ET Building, Phase 1 areas. This material contains 8% chrysotile asbestos. There is approximately TBD square feet of material to be removed. This material is not currently friable. 8. Window & Door Caulk a. Contractor shall remove all Window and Door Caulk from ET Building, Phase 1's Areas (see the attached floor plans). This material contains 6% chrysotile asbestos. There is approximately 46 each windows and 103 doors to be removed. This material is not currently friable. Care shall be given in removing door frames to avoid causing undue damage to the walls. Exterior Window removal shall be coordinated with the Construction Manager / General Contractor. This work is anticipated as a separate mobilization. 9. Lead Painted Metal Stair Railing a. Contractor shall remove the metal component Stair Railings from the Interior Center and South Stairs, as well as the Southwest Exterior Stairs. This material contains lead-based paint. There are approximately 5 railings of material to be removed. These materials shall be removed in accordance with lead safe work practices. 10. Lead Containing Wall Tile and Fixtures a. Contractor shall remove all lead containing ceramic wall tiles from the restrooms in the ET Building, Phase 1 areas (see the attached floor plans). This material contains lead. There is approximately 1,245 square feet of material to be removed. This material is friable. These materials shall be removed in accordance with lead safe work practices. 11. CMU Walls a. Contractor shall remove the CMU walls from the ET Building, Phase 1 areas (see the attached floor plans). This material contains lead-based paint. There is approximately 1,245 square feet of material to be removed. These materials shall be removed in accordance with lead safe work practices. 12. Universal Waste a. Contractor shall remove and properly dispose of all PCB-containing fluorescent light ballasts from the building. 850 ballasts are suspected. b. Contractor shall remove and properly dispose of all fluorescent light tubes in the building. 1,700 have been identified. Light ballasts and bulb removal is to be coordinated with the Construction Manager / General Contractor. This work is anticipated to be done in a separate mobilization. c. Contractor shall remove and properly dispose of 2 drinking fountains and the coolants therein. d. Contractor shall remove and properly dispose of 2 roof top units and the coolants therein. e. Contractor shall remove and properly dispose of all oils in, Transformers, chemicals, and paints left in the building. ~1 transformer has been identified. f. Contractor shall remove and properly dispose of all auto door closers in the building. 103 units have been identified. g. Contractor shall remove and properly dispose of all mercury thermometers in the building. 85 have been identified. Question Submission Close Date 12/15/2021 3:00 PM MST
