Bids will be considered by the Owner at a public meeting to be held at the Johnson County Administration Building, Betty Sass Conference Room, 913 South Dubuque Street, Iowa City, IA at 5:30PM, Central Time, on December 21, 2021 or at such later time and place as may then be fixed. The general nature of the work is as follows: The project consists of providing a latrine, parking lot, and orientation kiosk at the entry to the Cedar River Crossing. In addition, improvements will be made to the drive and parking at the west end of the Sutliff Bridge. Improvements will require earthwork, utility distribution, paving, and installation of a latrine restroom. The work must commence between March 1 and March 15, 2022 and must reach substantial completion by June 15, 2022. The project shall reach final completion on or before July 15, 2022. The bidder's security shall be in an amount equivalent to 5% of the bid amount and shall be in the form of a cashier's or certified check drawn on a bank in Iowa or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States of America, or a certified bank share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States of America or a bid bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the Owner. The bid security will be held by the Owner until a contract is fully executed and bonds are approved by the Owner.
