Renovation of a medical facility in San Francisco, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.

The project scope entails replacement of the existing automatic transfer and bypassswitch (ATBS) EE2. ATBS EE2 provides the means to transfer load connection between normal and backup power sources for Moffitt/Long Hospital on floor 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13 and a Cath Lab on Floor 12. The existing ATBS is located in electrical room M81. Due to the essential nature of the equipment, there must be a synchronized and seamless cut-over to the new ATBS from the existing unit. Therefore, the new ATBS must be installed prior to the disconnection of the power system from the existing ATBS. The optimal location for the New ATBS is in proximity to the Existing ATBS in Moffitt Hospital electrical room M81. Due to lack of floor space in M81, placing the new ATBS there requires a full relocation of another piece of equipment in that electrical room. To this end, mini-power center BEZB, which serves power to Cole Hall, will be relocated to a nearby room, M085, currently being used for storage of ancillary lecture equipment for Cole Hall. M085 will be partially converted to house the mini-power station while also retaining some functionality to provide storage for the lecture space. The conversion of M085 into an electrical closet will require each architectural, electrical, fire alarm, fire sprinkler, and mechanical elements for code compliance. The new ATBS EE2 will be set where the mini-power station BEZB was previously located. After the synchronized cut-over from the existing ATBS EE2 to the new ATBS EE2, the old equipment will be removed. The footprint of the previous ATBS EE2 can be potentially used for a future electrical project. The estimated construction cost range for the project is $750,000 - 800,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Prequalification Questionnaires must be submitted on or before 2:00 PM, December 21, 2021 and will be submitted and processed electronically. For any questions regarding this project or your submission, please e-mail Yasmeen Jewel at Yasmeen.jewel@ucsf.edu and Rebecca Palm-Song at rebecca.palm@ucsf.edu.
