The Work of the Contract includes the upgrade of the station’s Transformer, Generator and 15kV cable. The new 25kV cable will run from the substation located at Porta park, to the East side of Waterfront Station. New concrete pads will need to be installed for the new Transformer and Generator, as well as the demo of the existing pads. It is Graham’s intention to generate a prequalified list of trade contractors to bid. The current invite is to submit prequalification documents for the listed scopes. Additional invitations will follow for other Tender Packages. Tender package scopes and descriptions below. Please note these are preliminary descriptions designed to help contractors decide on bidding, and scopes may change as the design is developed further. Concrete Supply Supply concrete for the two concrete pads, at the transformer and generator locations. Concrete Reinforcement Supply and install rebar for the two concrete pads, at the transformer and generator locations. Concrete Formwork, Placing & Finishing Install formwork, placing and finishing for the two concrete pads for the transformer and generator. Structural Steel & Miscellaneous Metals Steel grating and handrails to be installed around the transformer, misc. metal items for cable trays. Mechanical Small mechanical scope TBD, less than 10k. Fire Protection Fireproofing penetrations through concrete and steel stud walls. Estimated to be less than 20 penetrations. Traffic Control Preparing two traffic management plans, provide two nights of traffic control for concrete pours. Security 2 months of 24/7 security service needed. Remediation/Cleaning Cleaning 80 location inside concrete trench required to clean electrical pull pits. Other location in the station may need cleaning prior to working. Civil Due to proximity of the work to the trains and tracks, contractors will hand dig one 24” trenches for two conduits roughly 20’ long at the transformer location. Shorter trenches for the generator location will be also hand dug. If required, the contractor will may be asked to remove materials in non-revenue hours.
