As of March 8, 2022, the project has been awarded to DS Jordan Construction, Inc. for $381,731.50. The intent of the project is to install a new freight service elevator in the terminal building at PIE. The new elevator will be utilized for the second-floor restaurant, vendor usage for deliveries and building maintenance purposes. The existing elevators are currently being shared with airport passengers and do now allow a separate means of transporting goods and materials to the second floor.
