For the construction of Pepperell Parkway Water Main Replacement Phase I, Krebs Project 18025 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. A summary of the work items is included below: * Approximately 5,700 LF of 8-inch diameter D.I. water main * Approximately 2,900 LF of 6-inch diameter D.I. water main * Approximately 250 LF of 10-inch diameter HDPE water main * Approximately 200 LF of 8-inch diameter HDPE water main * Approximately 1,000 LF of 3-inch diameter HDPE water main * Two (2) lump sum creek crossings by horizontal directional drilling (HDD) * Associated water service installations and transfers * Associated water main appurtenances and fittings A cashier's check or bid bond payable to The Utilities Board of the City of Opelika, in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the state licensing board for general contractors must be licensed under the appropriate/applicable provisions of state law, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Engineer; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interest of the Owner will thereby be promoted. The work to be done under this Contract by the Contractor, at his/her own cost, shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, supplies, tools, documentation, facilities, transportation, services, testing, and equipment, and of performing all work, necessary to construct and fully complete the project entitled Pepperell Parkway Water Main Replacement – Phase I, Krebs Project 18025 all in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications and with the requirements and provisions of the Contract Documents. The Contractor’s scope of work under this Contract is not limited merely to physical construction and related services, material, or equipment, but also includes the totality of all of the Contractor’s obligations (e.g., including insurance, indemnity, and warranty obligations) under or arising from any of the Contract Documents.
