Site work for a mixed-use development in New Boston, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a detention facility; and water / sewer project.
Estimated cost: Over a million dollar. This project consists of the replacement of the existing underground steam, condensate, domestic hot water, and hot water return piping between Buildings 6 and 15. Work will include the installation of the new lines above ground using a structural support system between the termination points for these lines, as well as the reconnection of these new lines to existing piping within Buildings 6 and 15, replacement of the condensate receiver and pumps within Building 6, capping and abandonment of the existing underground piping, and associated site and electrical work. Existing piping will remain in service until the scheduled final connections of the new services to the existing boiler. All work shall be performed as shown in the construction plans prepared by Parkhill, Inc. Contractors are required to submit a HUB Subcontracting Plan as detailed in Exhibit 1. Failure to submit a completed HUB Subcontracting Plan will result in the bid being rejected from further consideration. Contractor must be bondable and insurable at the levels required. All bid proposals must be accompanied by a Bid Deposit in the amount of 5% of greatest amount bid. Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract amount will be required upon award of a contract. Contractor must provide evidence that demonstrates the contractor is qualified to satisfactorily perform the specified work and must have worked in this trade for at least five (5) years. The contractor shall submit written evidence to include a minimum of three (3) projects completed within the last ten (10) years of similar work, size and complexity to include the owner's name, telephone number, location, type of facility, construction cost and the date of completion with all bid proposals. The TDCJ reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive any informality or irregularity. It is the TDCJ's intent to issue the Notice to Proceed at the Pre-Construction Meeting with the performance period to begin upon issuance.
