Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

The classification of Contractor's license required in the performance of this Contract is a Class A. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 1773 of the Labor Code of the State of California, the City has obtained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work in this locality for each craft, classification or type of workman needed to execute the Contract from the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations.The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Labor and Materials Bond and a Faithful Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the amount of the Contract. Pursuant to Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code of the State of California, the Contract will contain provisions permitting the successful bidder to substitute securities for any monies withheld by the City of Montclair to ensure performance under the Contract. The required bidder's security shall be in an amount equal to at least 10% of the amount bid. A bid shall not be considered and will be deemed non-responsive unless one of the forms of bidder's security is enclosed with it. The work to be completed consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals as required by the Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents for the above stated project. Work under this contract is intended to replace the existing timber pedestrian bridge along the Pacific Electric Trail and remove and replace a portion of the existing trail in the City of Montclair. The project limits are on the west side of the 8700 block of Monte Vista Ave. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Removal of timber pedestrian bridge Remove and replace existing asphalt concrete pavement Remove and replace crushed gravel shoulder Installation of new prefabricated steel truss pedestrian bridge Install decorative railing Remove and re-install electrical line The City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to delete portions of the work, or to waive any defect or informality in any bid received.
