Renovation of a transportation facility in Hampton, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.

This project will remove the 22kV service to Facility 790 owned by the government and back feed the 22kV loop to the nearest switches. As part of the electrical upgrades, the electrical service shall be upgraded to Dominion Virginia Power's 34.5kV underground line, approximately 2,100 feet away from the current service entry to Facility 790, via a new concrete encased duct bank. A power study shall be performed on the existing Facility 790 to determine the current load of the facility. The projected additional power loads of 1900kVA for this project shall be added to the power study and a report provided to the government. This project will also replace the 22kV-480V 2.5MVA unit substation with a new NEMA 3R 34.5kV - 480V appropriately sized double ended unit substation with draw out power breakers for all 480 volt circuit breakers, including the mains and tie breaker. This project will also repair the existing hangar bay low-level, high-expansion foam and foam releasing systems will be replaced in order to meet the requirements of UFC 3- 600-01 and UFC 4-211-01. The US Air Force, Air Combat Command, is repairing and renovating Hangar 790 at Joint Base Langley-Eustis located in Hampton, Virginia. The existing building is two-story and approximately 56,180 square feet with an approximately 34,265-square foot hangar bay and associated administrative and shop areas. The hangar is used for general maintenance of F-22 aircraft. The hangar bay can accommodate up to six aircraft at any one time, with all bays open to each other. Questions following the site visit are due to the Contracting Office on 7 December 2021 by 1300 Performance Period - Three hundred twenty (320) calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Magnitude of Construction Project: Estimated between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Payment and Performance Bonds will be required for this project. Bonds are due no later than 10 calendar days after award.
