Addition to an educational facility in Ellerbe, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the addition of a 10,139-square-foot educational facility.
One story classroom addition (9,139 SF), with a second-floor mechanical room (1,219 SF) for a total of 10,139 SF; Educational Occupancy with Type IIB Construction, non-sprinkled. Renovations to the existing building corridor will address exiting needs so that construction on the addition may take place while the existing building is occupied. A 2-hour structurally independent fire wall with fire rated structure and roofing will separate the addition from the existing. The firewall and new roof is designed for a future tie-in to a new metal roof over the existing classroom building roof. Site modifications include revisions to the existing parking lot and bus drop off loop to create a new service drive and will require the rerouting of stormwater pipes and utilities and new sidewalks. Mechanical system is to be geothermal. Electrical system includes new 120/208V/3Ø/4W electrical feed from existing switchboard, new fiber homerun from existing MDF, new stand-alone voice evac fire alarm system, new LED lighting with stand-alone and occupancy/vacancy controls, and rough ins for security cameras, paging, and data systems. or confirm any information.
