Scope : Stairs : Perform the following work on the south stairs located along 4th street in front of Boudreaux's restaurant. Remove the west handrail and reinstall it after the new concrete is cured. Cut out and remove the stairs using mechanical tools or hammer and hand chiseling as appropriate. Use reasonable care and caution to minimize disturbance to the brick wall. Form and pour a 4' wide concrete stair assembly with 6 steps. Include replacing the top landing step. Base Cap : Remove the broken section of concrete located at the bottom of the column closest to the north restaurant door. Repair the cap and surrounding area with Jahn's restoration materials to mimic the design, texture, and color as close as possible with the other columns. West ramp handrail : Custom fabricate metal security barriers to fit inside the lower sections of the handrails along the west ramp. Replicate all design features and materials to match with the existing inserts on the east handrail. Terminate the bottom rail 3" above the ground. Paint: Primer and paint all metal handrails/security panels along the east and west sides of the ramp and stairs with two coats of good quality exterior oil-based semi-gloss paint. The owner shall select the topcoat color. Said work to be completed within 75 calendar days from the effective date of notice to proceed from the City. No Bid Bond is Required. Proposals Must Be Presented Under Sealed Cover, Plainly Marked. Liquidated Damages in the Amount of $100.00 Per Day Will Be Assessed on All Projects Where the Completion of Work Extends Beyond the Contract Expiration Date. These Projects Are Being Funded One-hundred Percent (100%) With Federal Dollars Through the Community Development Department of St. Joseph, Missouri. Said work to be completed within 75 calendar days from the effective date of notice to proceed from the City. Acceptance and Rejection of Bids: The Department of Community Development Reserves the Right to Reject Any and All Bids Which Fail to Comply With Any Provision of the Specifications.
