Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Raleigh, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
As of September 28, 2022, a general contractor was awarded and construction is underway. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The project begins approximately 125 feet north of the intersection of Blue Ridge Road and Reedy Creek Road and extends southward to a point approximately 690 feet north of the intersection of Blue Ridge Road and Trinity Road. The project consists of a Protected Intersection at Blue Ridge Road and Reedy Creek Road; a ten foot wide concrete multi-use path connection on the east side of Blue Ridge Road from the south terminus of existing sidewalk on the North Carolina Museum of Art property to the project crosswalk at Blue Ridge Road and Wade Avenue westbound exit ramp intersection; crosswalks at the north part of the Blue Ridge Road and Wade Avenue westbound exit and entrance ramps intersection, across the westbound Wade Avenue entrance ramp from Blue Ridge Road, and across the south part of the Blue Ridge Road intersection with Westchase Boulevard; a pedestrian bridge over Wade Avenue west of the existing Blue Ridge Road/Wade Avenue vehicular structure; and a ten foot wide concrete multi-use path along the west side of Blue Ridge Road from the intersection at the eastbound Wade Avenue exit and entrance ramps to approximately 690 feet north of the intersection at Trinity Road with a small section of ten foot wide sidewalk on the east side of Blue Ridge Road from Westchase Boulevard to a point approximately 230 feet south of Westchase Boulevard. The project also includes the relocation of approximately 950' of 16" diameter waterline along Blue Ridge Road and crossing under Wade Avenue via bore and jack Disadvantaged Business Enterprises 9.0 % The Contractor is encouraged to walk the project site but shall stay within the public right-of-way of Blue Ridge Road and any easements as indicated on the construction plans. Particular attention is encouraged, and caution exercised around the Malone Cemetery in the northwest quadrant of the intersection of Blue Ridge Road and Reedy Creek Road This is a Federal-aid project with Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) references and requires a DBE participation of 9%. Only those requirements set forth by NCDOT Goal Setting Committee are applicable. References to any other requirements or to N.C. General Statute 143-128.2 shall not apply to this project. Refer to Special Provisions SP1 G63 Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (Local Government Agencies). The City of Raleigh's standard goal for DBE participation is 15%. The City of Raleigh encourages Contractors to provide this percentage, but it is not required. The selection of the Contractor shall not be influenced by any additional DBE percentage over the required minimum.
