As of March 26, 2025, an engineer has been selected. This project is almost at 25% design and in the environmental permitting stage. It is anticpated bidding will commence in Summer 2026 with construction starting in Fall 2026. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR or Department) requests authorization to use the Due Diligence Posting process to obtain design, permitting, and construction administrative services for the Mystic River Pedestrian Bridge Project DCR seeks a consultant to complete the design work on the Mystic River Pedestrian Bridge Project ( Project ) by the end of August 2023, and to provide permitting support and construction administration services for the construction phase of the project. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation ( MassDOT ) will complete the construction phase of the project which will span the Mystic River between the City of Everett and the City of Somerville. All performances, including submittals, must meet MassDOT standards. The services sought include, but are not limited to: 1. Implementation of the selected Value Engineering Proposals. 2. First Bridge Submittal. 3. Final design. 4. Final geotechnical report. 5. Final hydraulic report. 6. Cost estimates. 7. Contract Time Determination Schedule. 8. Permitting support, including obtaining and reviewing permits. 9. Construction phase services, including contract document interpretation and site visits.
