Site work and paving for a road / highway in Washington, District of Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Project number- FAP: STBG-2021 (023) The project includes roadway and pedestrian access improvements to Florida Avenue, NE from 2 nd Street, NE to H Street, NE, as shown on the contract plans and indicated in the special provisions. All work on the roadways shall be performed within the existing right-of-way. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment for the Construction of the Project in accordance with the Contract Documents ("the Work"), which includes: a. The Project includesroadway and pedestrian accessimprovementsto Florida Avenue N.E. from 2nd Street N.E. to H Street N.E., as shown on the contract plans and indicated in the specifications / special provisions. All work on the roadways shall be performed within the existing right-of-way. b. This section provides a general work description for the project. The Special Provisions included in Attachment J.12, DDOT Standard Specifications for Highways and Structures 2013 edition and Contract Drawings provide project's detailes and technical description of the work. General project overview is included below: c. Contractor develop and submit to DDOT Contract Administration resource loaded baseline construction schedule for the project, provides two-week look ahead during during work performance and schedule updates showing work progress at intervals defined elsewhere in the solicitation and in DDOT Standard Specifications for Highways and Structures 2013 edition. d. Implement traffic controls. Monitor and maintain traffic controls for the entire duration of the Project as shown in the Contract plans. Maintain vehicular, bike and pedestrian traffic per DDOT Standard Specifications. Maintain accessto residential, institutional, and commercial establishments using appropriate means. e. Mobilization and demobilization, provision and maintenance of work and storage areas, Engineer's Field Facilities, and performance of Employee Training. f. Implementation of sediment and erosion control measures as shown on the contract plans. Clear and grub as directed. Maintenance ofsediment and erosion control measures for entire duration of the Project. g. Removal and disposal of existing pavement and median surfaces, concrete base, curb, gutter, sidewalk, and any other hard surface for repair and/or replacement. h. Removal and proper disposal of street lighting poles, cables, luminaires, and respective concrete foundations. The removal of these items shall be coordinated with the staged construction of new foundation for placement of new poles used in support of traffic signs. Materials shall be salvaged and delivered to the District storage yard i. Utility trenching for installation of new catch basins, manholes, and sewer pipes. Utility trenching for installation of electric ducts and electrical manholes for traffic signals and streetlights. Trench backfill and surface restoration. j. Installation of streetlight poles, arms, and luminaires (type as indicated in the drawings) including pole concrete foundations as shown on plans and the Special Provisions. k. Installation of traffic signal cabinets, poles, and heads (as indicated in the drawings) including manholes, conduit, and wiring. l. Installation of DDOT DEM and MUTCD compliant signage and pavement markings. m. Upgrade wheelchair ramps to meet current ADA requirements and pedestrian crosswalk safety improvement. n. Full depth pavement construction and concrete driveway aprons. o. Construction of curb and adjacent walkways. p. Construction of new protected bike lanes. q. Construction of new bus platforms. r. Drainage Upgrades - new storm drain pipe, catch basins & connecting pipes, new manholes, installation of new drainage structures. s. Construction of stormwater management bioretention facilities and associated infrastructure. t. Pavement profiling of existing asphalt surface course (approximately 2 inches), resurfacing of existing roadway for entire length of the Project. Provide wedge/leveling as required and as. u. Construction of tree pits and planting of trees as shown on the plans with a two (2) year guarantee period during which the Contractor shall focus on weekly watering, per DDOT 608.02. v. Maintain service of all existing utilities during construction. w. Disposal of all unsalvageable material and all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals required to obtain a complete and finished product of work. x. Work also includes all other work and various incidentals required as shown in the contract plans and/or as specified in the Specifications and Special Provisions. y. The contractor shall produce design calculations and shop drawings in connection with necessary systems for temporary support structures or devices, protection/demolition shields, and other significant temporary work affecting the safety of the traveling public or workers on the project The Final Acceptance Date is 540 consecutive calendar days from the date of Notice to Proceed
