Bids for Exterior Painting for Slover Mt. High School The Contract Time is 90 calendar days. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding. Each bid must be accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder's security: (1) cash; (2) a cashier's check made payable to the District; (3) a certified check made payable to the District; or (4) a bidder's bond executed by a California admitted surety as defined in Code of Civil Procedure section 995.120, made payable to the District, in the form set forth in the Contract Documents. Such bidder's security must be in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum amount of such bidder's bid as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the Contract, if the same is awarded to such bidder, and will provide the required Performance and Payment Bonds, insurance certificates and any other required documents. Separate payment and performance bonds, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total Contract amount, are required, and shall be provided to the District prior to execution of the Contract and shall be in the form set forth in the Contract Documents. SCOPE OF WORK: A. A pre-job conference will be held prior to the start of the project. At that time the paint specifications will be presented and understood by the job foreman. Any questions are to be addressed at that meeting. B. The work to be done consists of providing and furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, services, and incidentals necessary to prepare, paint and refinish the outside and exterior surface of the site buildings listed in the attached bid. The exterior of Colton Unified School District buildings are to be painted on exposed surfaces shown in District specs. Painting will start only when a sample patch is completed. This will be the standard of the project; no paint will be applied until the sample wall has been approved by the District. Work to bep performed in strict accordance with these specifications. All work will be corrected which does not comply with the intent of these specifications. C. Each item or area in these specifications is described by the most commonly used name and the contractor will inform himself and his employees of the areas that are to be painted. Areas to be painted will be gone over very clearly at the job walk through, including materials and surfaces to be designated. D. The school district reserves the right to award the painting work to any contractor as its best interest may appear or reject any or all for any reason. E. All lead-based paint surface preparation and paint stabilization shall be performed by California Department of Public Health (CDPH) certified personnel. All lead waste shall be properly stored onsite and characterized for disposal. Based on characterization results, hazardous waste shall be handled by a licensed hazardous waste transporter. Disposal must be in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations. Contractor must provide a CDPH Certified Project Monitor or Inspector/Assessor responsible for overseeing the job until the surface preparation process is complete.
