As of January 11, 2022, project has been awarded to Maine Earth for $98,630 on the pump station with an alternate of $84,400 just in case the force main need to be replaced. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and will make an award of the bid on the basis of price, delivery time, and meeting specifications. Bidder may be represented at bid opening if desired. 1. Base Bid Construction: a. Pressure testing the existing force main as outlined in Section 02755. b. New grinder pump station package including precast wet-well, two 2-hp submersible grinder pumps, guide rails, base elbows, four floats, discharge piping, lifting chain, alarm, and control panel. c. New precast valve pit with check valves, ball valves, and a bypass/flushing connection. d. Plumbing to connect two existing sewer services to the new precast wet well and to provide a capped stub out for a future sewer service connection. e. New 2-inch HDPE force main, including excavation, pipe installation, backfill, compaction, and connection to existing force main as shown on the Drawings. f. Mount new pump control panel to side of existing hanger and connect new pump control panel power feed to power feed from existing control panel. g. Associated site work and dig safe survey. h. Other appurtenances as shown on the Drawings and specified herein. i. During the time between the signing of the contract and acceptance of the new pump station facilities, Contractor to maintain operation of the existing temporary pump station system, including protection from freezing. 2. Base Bid Demolition of: a. Existing grinder pump station, alarm, control panel, and valve pit; b. Piping and conduit, as indicated on the Drawings 3. Alternate A Construction and Demolition: a. City will determine if the existing force main needs to be replaced, pending the results of Contractor's test of the existing force main. b. Sawcut and remove pavement on driveway between hangers and at driveway at Sullivan's Automotive Service, Inc. property. c. New 2-inch HDPE force main, including excavation, pipe installation, backfill, compaction as shown on the drawings from the new valve pit to an existing manhole on Airport Road.
