Major items include For Water Relocations: 3,099-LF 6" through 12" AWWA C-900 DR-18 water lines by open cut, 679 LF 8 through 12" AWWA C-900 DR-18 water lines with steel encasement by bore, 27 6" through 12" gate valves, 6 fire hydrants and 3,516-LF of pressure grouting and abandoning in place existing 8" through 12" water lines. For Sanitary Sewer Relocations: 4,117-LF 6" through 15" SDR 26 & SDR 35 PVC sanitary sewer lines by open cut, 370-LF 8" SDR 35 PVC sanitary sewer with steel encasement by bore, 25 4-ft and 5-ft diameter manholes, 3,367-LF of pressure grouting and abandoning in place existing 6" through 12" sanitary sewer lines, including all proposed water and sanitary sewer line connections. Proposals shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check upon a national or state bank in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price, payable without recourse to the City of Royse City, or a bid bond in the same amount from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as surety, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance bond and payment bond within ten (10) days after being notified of award of contract. The Owner intends to provide a notice of award of contract within sixty (60) days following the bid opening. Bids without required check or bid bond will be rejected. The successful bidder must furnish performance bond upon the form provided in the amount of 100% of the contract price; a material and labor payment bond upon the form provided in the amount of 100% of the contract price; and a maintenance bond in the amount of 50% of the contract amount for a period of two (2) years from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as surety or other sureties acceptable to the City of Royse City. Should the bidder fail to produce evidence satisfactory to the Royse City on any of the foregoing points, the bidder may be disqualified, and the work awarded to the next responsible bidder so qualifying. The City of Royse City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in the bids received. In case of ambiguity or lack of clearness in stating prices in the bids, the City reserves the right to consider the most advantageous construction thereof, or to reject the bid. Unreasonable or unbalanced unit prices will be considered sufficient cause of rejection of bids.
