Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Lexington, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

***As of January 8, 2022, the project has not yet been awarded. This will be presented to the Fayette County Board of Education at its meeting January 24, 2022.*** The Scope of Work intent of the project is to construct a new Softball Field House on the existing grounds of Lafayette High School. This work includes excavation, concrete foundations, concrete slabs, masonry, wood trusses, asphalt shingle roofing, painting, toilet partitions, toilet accessories, plumbing, mechanical systems, power, light fixtures and other miscellaneous related work to complete the aforementioned project. All questions during the bidding period shall be submitted to Maureen Peters, Pearson & Peters Architects, via email (mpeters@pparch.com). All questions shall be submitted no later than ten (10) days prior to the established bid date. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the Owner in an amount of not less than 5% of the bid. The award of the contract shall be made on the basis of the lowest and best bid in the interest of Fayette County Board of Education. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the bid opening. The Fayette County Board of Education provides equal opportunities to all of its bidders with respect to the bidding and award of construction contracts. Work is to be completed over one hundred eighty (180) days starting approximately June 1, 2022. Upon Execution and after Notice to Proceed Contractor shall prepare all submittals in order to have all materials approved, ordered and to be available at the Start of Work The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities and irregularities and shall have the right to reject any and all bids. The successful bidder shall provide a 100% Performance and Payment Bond. Preference for resident bidders shall be given as outlined in KRS 45A.90 to 45A.94 This process has been developed with the intent to support the Fayette County Public School Board of Education in meeting their District wide 10% goal for Women and Minority Business Enterprises participation for total bid contracts.
