The project consists of partially replacing the existing HVAC rooftop units and associated accessories and utilities as required. This project is funded by ESSR funds and will have to follow all requirements including Davis Bacon Wage Rates. Proposals shall be submitted on proposal forms provided with the specifications and must be accompanied by Proposal Security in the form of Certified Check or acceptable Bid Bond in the amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the Base Bid: such security to be forfeited as liquidated damages, not penalty, by any bidder who fails to carry out the terms of the proposal, execute contract and post Performance Bond in the form and amount within the time specified. The Bid Bond, if used, shall be payable to the Owner. Bids on the Project must be received on or before the period scheduled for the project and no bid withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the project for a period of forty-five (45) days. All bids submitted in excess of $50,000.00 by a Prime or Subcontractor to do any erection, building, construction, repair, maintenance, or related work must comply with the Mississippi Contractors Act of 1985, by securing a Certificate of Responsibility from the State Board of Contractors. All general contract/major subcontract Bidders and Suppliers are urged to attend. All Bidders are expected to have familiarized themselves with conditions relating to the work prior to the pre-bid conference. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids on any or all projects and to waive informalities. If the Districts Superintendents Office is closed for any reason, including but not limited to inclement weather, an emergency situation or any other act of nature, for which closure prevents the opening of bids at the originally advertised date and time, all bids received shall be publicly opened and read aloud on the next business day that the Districts Superintendents Office shall be open for business at the previously advertised time. The new date and time of bid opening, as determined in accordance with this paragraph, shall not be advertised. Any plan holders will not be notified of such change. Desoto County Schools shall not be held responsible if plan holders fail to comply or misses this rescheduling due to no fault of the district.
