The intent of this contract is to test and repair Backflow Preventers at various City owned facilities throughout the City of Kalamazoo In accordance with the Administrative Rules under Public Act 399 - promulgated under the Michigan Safe Drinking Water Act (Part 14. Cross-connections-R325.11401- R325.11407) and the State Plumbing Code (latest revision). There are approximately 118 devices at 47 various locations throughout the City. Annual testing will be required of all devices except those used in seasonal applications (lawn sprinkling systems), which shall be tested bi-annually and fire service which shall be tested every third year. This contract will be awarded to that responsible bidder whose bid, conforming to this solicitation, will be most advantageous to the City, price and other factors considered. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and waive informalities and minor irregularities in bids received. Other factors include, as an example but not limited to, delivery time, conformance to specifications, incidental costs such as demurrage and deposits, etc.
