Renovation of an educational facility in West Lafayette, Indiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
A. All work shall be performed in a workmanlike manner and comply with all applicable local, state and national codes. B. All drawings are diagrammatic in nature. Contractor shall install system to meet field conditions. Contractor shall visit the site to determine the full extent of the work and working conditions. A. Backfilling and surface restoration shall be provided, as follows: 1. Contractor shall restore all existing landscape, roadway, sidewalks, and other landscaping, as per existing. 2. All roadways and crossings shall be restored to original condition and shall follow all requirements, as described in the specifications and drawings. 3. All grassy areas with utility work shall require restoration to existing and shall be backfilled to finished grade. In turf areas the top 6 inches of backfill shall be backfilled with topsoil. For areas with plant beds or shrubs the top 24 inches of backfill (minimum) shall be backfilled with topsoil. All seeding shall be by Owner B. Contractor shall protect the construction area per the Owner's erosion protection plan. A. Standards: The materials, products and equipment described in the Bidding Documents establish the standards of required function, dimension, appearance, and quality to be met by proposed substitution. B. Definitions and Explanations: Revisions to Contract Documents, where required by the Engineer, are "changes" not "substitutions." Requested substitutions during bidding period, which have been accepted prior to the Contract Date, are to be included in the Contract Documents as an Addendum, and as such are not subject to requirements for "substitutions" as specified herein. Contractor's determination of and compliance with governing regulations and lawful orders issued by governing authorities do not constitute "substitutions"; and do not constitute a basis for change orders, except as provided for in Contract Documents. Otherwise, the Contractor's requests for changes in products, materials and methods of construction required by the Contract Documents are considered requests for "substitutions," and are subject to requirements hereof. C. "Or Approved Equal": Where named products, materials or methods are accompanied by "or approved equal" or other language of the same effect, Contractor's requests to use unnamed products, materials or methods are considered requests for substitutions, and are subject to requirements thereof.
