Marine Atlantic Inc. (MAI) invites offers from qualified Vendors for the removal of two (2) offshore mooring dolphins at the docking facility in North Sydney, NS. The Work generally includes, but it is not necessarily limited to, the removal of two (2) offshore concrete caisson structures. The structures were built in 1965 and currently serve no purpose for Marine Atlantic's current operations. The structures measure approximately 12mx 12m each and are concrete caisson/crib construction, with 9 cells per caisson (the cells are rock filled). More particularly the work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: Demolition and removal of reinforced concrete top slab and associated bollards, ladders, fenders, concrete poles, treated timber and other ancillary components. Demolition and removal of reinforced concrete caisson walls and concrete base slab. Demolition and removal of rock mattress overlying bedrock in the footprint of the caissons. Supply, installation and maintenance of a silt curtain and containment boom during all demolition activities. Disposal of all demolition debris at an approved waste facility. Marine Atlantic reserves the right to accept tenders in whole or in part. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
