Patton Township is requesting proposals from qualified firms for services related to a Scoping Study/Alternatives Analysis for a shared use path connector. This shared use path will be located in the area of Scotia Road (see attached map) and will connect the existing Circleville Road Bike Path to the existing Gray's Woods Boulevard Shared Use Path. The Patton Township Board of Supervisors has adopted a formal Parks and Bicycle/Pedestrian Path Plan that outlines park and bicycle/pedestrian path development through the years 2020-2029. One of the projects identified of high importance for development in the next five (5) years is the connector located in the area of Scotia Road that will connect the existing Circleville Road Bike Path to the existing Gray's Woods Shared Use Path. The overall goal of the study is to evaluate alternative designs and determine one (1) preferred design option that can be implemented to improve connectivity and safety in this area. Patton Township is a suburban/rural area with a population of 17,800 residents. Most Township residents live in suburban neighborhoods. Parks and Shared Use Paths in Patton Township are the responsibility of the Board of Supervisors. The Patton Township Recreation Advisory Committee (RAC) is the citizen's committee that is responsible for advising the Board regarding recreational activities. Key staff include the Township Department of Engineering, Planning & Zoning Project Manager, the Township Engineer/Director of Engineering, Zoning & Planning and the Township Manager. Township staff and the Recreation Advisory Committee (RAC) may choose to interview a short-list of consultants in February 2022, depending on the proposals received for this project. The Township staff anticipates making a recommendation for consultant selection to the Board of Supervisors at their February 23, 2022 meeting. CLARIFICATION DEADLINE
